Saint Ronan's School Girls U10A vs  Beechwood Sacred Heart
On: Wednesday, 13 Nov 2019
Venue: at Home

The As rounded off their season with a convincing match against Beechwood. We played 5 a-side and without a goal keeper, allowing Michelle VDB the opportunity to stretch her legs. The girls started well, moving the ball quickly and generally out-playing the Beechwood side. Our ‘eyes up hockey’ is allowing us to make thoughtful and considered passes, connecting with team-mates to create some exciting attacking play. We dominated most of the possession in the first half, with several near misses from Izzy A and Daisy A, but eventually mustered two great goals - from Freya B and one from Athena M. In the remaining half, we tested our versatility by rotating positions. This unsettled our play, initially, but taught us a valuable lesson as to the importance of different positional roles. Those not used to playing at the back were caught out a couple of times, giving Beechwood two easy goals. However, at the other end, Molly Z (usually in defence) scored a super goal, followed by a 5th from Alice M to conclude the game 5-2. A great team effort, girls. Well done.
