Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls-U13B vs  Dulwich Prep Cranbrook
On: Wednesday, 20 Nov 2019
Venue: Away

The U13B team also played a match against the DCPS U13As but they rotated positions and subbed off their strongest two players. Nevertheless, it was a very useful exercise in seeing whether our team selection was right. We started well, moving the ball successfully up to our shooters in the opening minutes of the game. Olivia E and Sophie M were unlucky not to score on several occasions, with the ball skimming the hoop each time. DCPS replied with some lovely passages of play and also missed some opportunities to score. Possession was well fought by both sides but we fell foul of the obstruction rule on too many occasions, giving DCPS the advantage of an un-marked player. Both teams eventually started to convert shooting opportunities and the score was even at 2-2 as we started the second half. Lettice A played effectively at Centre, well-supported by Rose M/Iris L and Charlotte P on the wings. Lotty C and Matilda E gave everything in defence, making some timely interceptions to prevent goal-scoring opportunities. An encouraging start to the season, but plenty to work on in training next week. Well done, girls. Player of the Match: Matilda E
