Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls-U10B vs  The Mead School
On: Wednesday, 19 Jun 2019
Venue: Away

The U10Bs travelled to Tunbridge Wells to play a mixed U11/10 team from The Mead. SRS lost the toss and were put in to bat. New to cricket, all of The Mead team bowled under-arm. Libby H and Lottie B opened the batting and got us off to a great start, scoring 15 runs off the bat. They ended as our top-scoring pair. Generally our batters made the most of the opportunities to run quickly between the wickets but too often they left their stumps exposed or let the ball through and so The Mead bowled 6 wickets (-30 runs). We ended our innings on 222. Libby H opened the bowling for SRS and took 2 fabulous wickets in her over. A further wicket was taken by Florence F through an excellent stumping. SRS reacted well in the field, moving towards the hit ball and retrieving it accurately. Lottie B and Sophie D proved to be economical bowlers, with good line and length, and all our girls were keen to put the over-arm bowling action into their game. A few too many no balls were delivered but the match remained close until the last two overs - The Mead hit a boundary off the last ball to confirm their victory. Well tried, girls. Player of the Match: bowling/fielding: Libby H; batting: Lottie B.
