Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Boys-U10A vs  Sutton Valence Preparatory School
On: Wednesday, 15 May 2019
Venue: Away

You never know quite what the weather will do at SV, so we were prepared for it all. The moment we arrived, it was clear to see that it was going to be a warm afternoon. Not really what was expected. We were sent in to bowl first on what was a very small pitch. It was therefore vital to bowl a good line and length. Our first wicket came in the 5th over, with Ethan H bowling their opener with a yorker! Wickets came at intervals, not really letting the opposition gain much momentum. Everybody had a bowl; Oscar D has worked very hard on his bowling and managed to bag a few wickets in his two overs. Well done! Unfortunately, too many extras cost us the game.

Our batting has been a big focus so far this season and we started off very well with Jacob J and Felix E. They played some wonderful shots but SV's bowling was very tight and, although we showed much patience, time and runs were running out. A few retired batsmen gave way to others having a swing and Josh E did just that, scoring an impressive 13 runs of 10 balls to give us a lifeline. The shot of the day came from Josh, smashing a back foot cover drive for 4 runs.

A promising game,especially from a batting perspective.
