Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Mixed-U12A vs  Claremont Preparatory School
On: Tuesday, 07 May 2019
Venue: Away

On Tuesday 7th May, thirty Saint Ronan’s boys and girls travelled to Claremont for a swimming gala. We had not done much training but were keen to measure ourselves against friendly opposition and excited to once again be in the swimming pool. Claremont were certainly stronger on this occasion; the effect of their winter commitment and training showed and they won with 212 points to our 167 points. Standout performances from our side included a first place for Edward M in the U10 Boys 20m Butterfly and a first place for Darcey G in the U10 Girls 20m Breaststroke. It was great to see Jack B bravely volunteering for the Individual Medley and there were whoops of delight when our U10 Boys won the Medley Relay; very well done Rory, Ed, Wilby and Nicholas! Bruno won the U10 Boys Breaststroke, with Wilby finishing a close second. Humphrey held on in a tough battle to win the U13 Boys 40m Breaststroke – brilliant! With lovely strong swimming, Lottie H won the U10 Girls 20m Freestyle and Rory won the U10 Boys 20m Freestyle. This was the last swimming gala for our Year 8s. We thank Jemima, Lucy, Daisy, Martha, Will H, and Humphrey for their commitment and enthusiasm over the years and for the wonderful example they have set for our younger children. We are looking forward to next week, when we travel to Ashdown House with a big squad of U9s, U10s, U11s and 12s. Finally, a big thank you to all the parents who have supported our swimmers.
