Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls-U12A vs  Claremont Preparatory School
On: Wednesday, 15 May 2019
Venue: Away

The U12s enjoyed their cricket at Claremont this week and the barbecue that followed! SRS lost the toss and were put in to bat. Claremont's first pair bowled accurately, with speed on the off-side, which made run-scoring challenging for our slightly surprised openers: Mathilda F and Charlotte Pa. However, Claremont did not have depth to their bowling talent and easy deliveries in the following overs were sent flying to the short boundary by Florence S and Floss S, who put on 33 runs, and Freya G and Charlotte Pr (36). Unpredictable balls were received by Lettice A and Bea W, which proved difficult to score off, although they successfully added 13. SRS finished on 288 (18 scored from NB or wides). Claremont hit out strongly but the SRS girls kept their nerve when bowling and after a few hiccups they managed to 'smother' and stop the ball before it reached the boundary. Good bowling performances came from Freya G, Mathilda F, Charlotte Pa and Florence S. Bea W put in an outstanding, match-saving last over, taking a wicket and restricting the batters. Well done, girls! Players of the Match: Florence S (batting), Bea W (bowling)
