Venue: Away

Lost 241-242

This could not have been a closer game, with just one run in it, enabling SVS to clinch the win. We were put in to bat first, with Ruby B and Emily H scoring 17 runs, but also losing a wicket and finishing on 12. Evie S and Rosie S were next up and faced some tricky bowling. SVS took another two wickets so any runs we did make were unfortunately lost. Martha R and Daisy E steered us back on track with some super batting, Daisy in particular utilising her left handed batting to good effect. Amelie G and Phoebe C also hit the ball well, scoring 11 runs between them. Georgie A and Ruby concluded the innings by scoring 16 runs, benefitting from a number of wide balls. This gave us a total of 241 runs. Our fielding was generally good and our bowling on point. Evie S took a great catch behind the wicket and some quick thinking from Ruby at the stumps managed to dismiss another. We took two wickets overall. With the scores looking tight into the final over, we focused hard, making some great stops to prevent the ball from reaching the boundary. SVS saved their best until last, managing to clinch the match by just one run. A very enjoyable afternoon and a great first match. Well done, girls. Player of the Match: Phoebe C
