Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls-U13A vs  Vinehall School
On: Wednesday, 05 Jun 2019
Venue: Away

The U13As played a 20 over match against a squad of 10 Vinehall girls. SRS lost the toss and were put in to bat on a fast, but consistent, wicket. Vinehall's bowling had good pace, although line and length was a bit variable and they delivered 25 no balls or wides. We found it challenging to routinely strike the ball or to find the gaps between the fielders (Vinehall matched our number in the field). Georgie A and Ruby B were our top-scoring pair, with Rosie S and Emily H close behind due to opportunistic and quick running. SRS finished on 286 (including 7 boundaries), having lost 5 wickets. Vinehall's batting was positive from the outset: striking the ball and running hard. Overall SRS's bowling had a better line (17 no balls/wides against Vinehall's 25) but it lacked the pace and so Vinehall were able to hit out, reaching the boundary 7 times plus 2 giant sixes on the leg side. Further boundaries were prevented by quick movement and thinking by Emily H. Wickets were taken by Rosie S, Emily H, Ruby B and Daisy E. Player of the Match for Batting – Ruby B; Bowling and Fielding – Emily H.
