Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Boys-U13A vs  Marlborough House School
On: Wednesday, 28 Nov 2018
Venue: at Home

After the success of the 7s Tournament on Saturday, could the boys adapt quickly to playing 13 a side rugby? The answer is a big fat Yes! SRS were certainly up for it. From the kick off, Henry C received the ball deep in his half. The ball then went through numerous pairs of hands until it reached Jamie P, on the right wing, who sprinted around the outside of his opponent and scored in the corner. Despite the wet and windy conditions, it was great to see the boys keeping the ball alive and not using the boot. The intensity of the SRS boys was clear for all to see and we won the majority of the rucks, especially our forwards Archie T, Humphrey B, Theo B and Arthur G. It wasn't until near the end of the first half that we scored our 2nd try, through Arthur E after excellent work from Archie W, who drew two defenders before passing the ball and creating time and space for Arthur E to race to the line. The second half started with MHS on the front foot and soon they reduced the deficit to only one score behind us, which was fully justified. This seemed to stir the boys into action and Jack B scored a try after going through the phases and keeping possession. MHS would not lie down and, just before the end, scored a try to make the score 15-10 in SRS's favour. Well played, both sides, especially in dreadful conditions. Man of the Match: Jamie Parsley
