Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls-U13A vs  Walthamstow Hall
On: Wednesday, 27 Feb 2019
Venue: Away

The U13s had their first field lacrosse match against Walthamstowe Hall in Sevenoaks on Wednesday. Lacrosse is a major sport at WH and their hours with the lacrosse stick showed - their play was fast, assertive and they communicated well as a team. Our U13s had watched the StR U12s play part of their fixture against the WH U12s so they went on knowing something about WH's style and ability. Jemima S won the first draw and took the game to them, scoring within the first minute - a great boost to StR morale! End to end lacrosse followed but WH's experience and more reliable technical skills around the fan paid dividends. Our defence was tenacious, with Emily H, Ruby B and Evie Sa determined to never give up. The score stood at a very respectable 5-3 at half time (with Bella K and Martha R also scoring). The squad kept up the pressure throughout the second half and Jemima S scored again, following a foul by WH just outside the fan. A great experience for the girls and they represented themselves very well. Next week we will be striving for more dynamic dodging from our attack across the front of the goal and for more verbal communication between team members during play. Thanks to Evie Sh and Amelie G who shared the goal-keeping responsibilities. Players of the Match: Ruby B and Jemima S
