Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls-U12A vs  Marlborough House School
On: Wednesday, 06 Mar 2019
Venue: Away

The girls had a fantastic game of field lacrosse away at MHS. We were tenacious in our play, making strong attacking runs and driving towards the goal. Charlotte Pr was first to score, with a super goal. Bea W and Freya G soon followed, bringing the score to 3-0 at quarter time. With a squad of 16, there was plenty of opportunity for versatility and the girls were superb at rotating on and off the field and adjusting to different positions. In the second quarter, possession was more evenly-balanced. We had to mark well, blocking and tackling effectively. Charlotte Pa made some good saves in goal and cleared the ball assertively from her goal circle. Mathilda F and Eleanor S were able to run the ball out of defence to set up some promising attacks. We had a few shots at goal but Freya G was the only one to find the back of the net. The score stood at 4-1 at half time. In the final two quarters we made a concerted effort not to block the goal at our attacking end and to keep the fan clear and open for those trying to shoot. This worked well, encouraging a flurry of goals from Bea W, Lotty C and Freya B (to complete her hat-trick), supported beautifully by Lettice A and Mathilda F. A super team effort, girls. Very well done. Player of the Match: Mathilda F.
