Match Report
Saint Ronan's School 2nd XI vs  TRiangular with MHS 2nd XI
On: Wednesday, 07 Nov 2018
Venue: Away

The Seconds played delightful football in their match at MHS. The teams were evenly matched but Charlie E, playing right wing, tormented his defender by knocking the ball into space and then driving forward powerfully before putting in spicy crosses that were just too hot to handle. MHS scored first, off one of Charlie’s crosses, but it was the wrong net and one nil to Saint Ronan’s! Saint Ronan’s went up another goal, again desperately finished by an MHS defender as Charlie continued to threaten up the right. In the second half, it was more of the same please and once again Charlie found space up the right and delivered delicious crosses on to which our attackers pounced. However a defender won the competition to the ball and guided the ball, in a panic, past the confounded keeper to complete the hat-trick of own goals! Immediately after this third goal we regained possession and worked the ball around brilliantly, showing purpose, control and skill, until Max R finally finished the move off, putting the ball into the back of the net! Charlie E was Player of the Match, while Barnaby Dear also deserves a special mention for his superb goal-keeping. Saint Ronan’s 4-0 Marlborough House
