Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Boys-U11A vs  Sutton Valence Preparatory School
On: Wednesday, 07 Nov 2018
Venue: at Home

The Colts A took part in a triangular with Sutton Valence and Marlborough House. First up was SV,who had dominated a match earlier in the season, so this was going to be a good indication of the progress of the team. It was a very close contest. Saint Ronan's played their best football. Firm, accurate passing, decisive defending and positive attacking intent were all present. The game was locked at 0 - 0 until the last minute when a quick throw in by SV exploited the first lapse in concentration and their striker finished well to win the game 1 - 0. The result was a bit of a body blow but the quality of the football was there for all to see. Next up MHS, who made a quick start, opening the scoring and dominating the first half. After re-grouping, Saint Ronan's returned to the form they showed against SV and a strong run by Ned T (who had worked tirelessly all day) gave him an opening which he took, with a thunderous strike from close in. With the score level, Tom T and Alex P seemed to relax at the back and showed greater composure on the ball. The mid-field began to retain more possession and, after some excellent build up play, Jack E switched the ball from the left to Orlando S, who passed to Ed M out wide on the right. Ed showed good close control and managed to score from an acute angle at the near post. It looked as if a win was certain until, in the last minute (again) the MHS wide player put in a hard, low cross that was not dealt with and they levelled, with the game finishing 2 - 2. Man of the Matches: Ned T.
