Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Boys-U11C vs  St Andrews & SVPS
On: Wednesday, 19 Sep 2018
Venue: at Home

This was a very strong performance by our boys. There were lots of goals to keep the scoreboard ticking over and Ludo made some super saves in goal (continuing his great start to the season from last week). Our lads’ passing game made all the difference in this match: Charlie and Bertie worked particularly well in midfield/attack. Our opponents were not quick enough which gave our boys a few seconds to think about each pass and line it up properly. In the end that made all the difference, as the scoreboard attests. (RA)

Our boys had to play directly after their first match, so there were a few tired feet on the pitch for this game. St. Andrews’ were a very proposition from our first opponents. Their passing was as good if not just a bit more precise than ours. This meant that they had a few more shots on goal and it was only a matter of time before one found the back of the net late on in the second half. To improve, our boys need to focus more on positional play. In the first match they were able to come out of their positions due to an opposition that was slow to respond. The second game revealed what can happen when up against a better team. Despite the loss, it was a good learning experience and something to take forward to the next match. (JG)
