Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls-U12A vs  Marlborough House School
On: Wednesday, 28 Nov 2018
Venue: Away

The U12As had a fabulously competitive game of netball on Wednesday against MHS, despite the deteriorating weather and playing conditions. Individually, and as a team, the girls played with determination and commitment. Play was fast right from the start and MHS ended Q1 ahead 2-1. Our girls started Q2 brilliantly - passing the ball into space, ahead of the moving player. We gave our shooters opportunities and they quickly scored 4 goals before MHS clawed back to 5-5 at half time. As the ball became ever more slippery, both teams found it hard to maintain possession. Any high balls seemed to hang in the wind forever and were easily intercepted by the opposing team, so our girls used the bounce pass to good effect. Charlotte P and Matilda E were tenacious and effective in defence; Bea W, Lettice A and Matilda F worked the mid-court with tremendous energy and Sophie M made some excellent feeds to Floss S in the goal circle, where she shot with confidence. The game could have gone either way - the score stood at 6-6 for much of Q4 but MHS's stamina and sustained concentration paid off this week and they scored in the last minute. A narrow defeat, but much to like about the girls' attitude and netball skills. Well done. Player of the Match: Team award - well played.
