Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls U10B vs  The Mead School
On: Wednesday, 17 Oct 2018
Venue: at Home

The girls hit the ground running, having had a substantial warm up prior to the match. We haven’t played The Mead before so, not knowing what to expect, we played a tight game initially, with the focus on maintaining possession and keeping our sticks down ready to block tackle. Playing across the width of the astro meant that it was vital to exploit the width of the pitch so Evie W and Lottie B worked hard on the wings, receiving the ball and driving it down the side of the pitch before crossing it into the D. Amy-May H and Aggie E were poised and ready on each occasion, striking the ball neatly into the back of the goal. Jo Jo CM worked hard in the middle, providing an excellent link between the defending and attacking ends of the pitch. Polly H, Flora H and Octavia D were alert in defence and dealt with any attacking play from the opposition with confidence. We were much better at clearing the ball out to the wings; Polly H demonstrating a super clear out to Evie W on the right, who took the ball straight up the pitch, crossed it into the D, where Lottie B finished it all off beautifully with a goal. Text book hockey, girls. Overall a great team performance, which demonstrated desire and commitment to the game. Final score 5-0 to SRS, with goals from Lottie B, Evie W, Aggie E, and Amy-Mae (2). Well done.
