Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls U11B vs  Sacred Heart School Wadhurst
On: Wednesday, 10 Oct 2018
Venue: at Home

The U11Bs played Sacred Heart (SH) in the Founders' Hall on Wednesday. The surface was fast and the space limited so the refs had agreed to be tough on foot infringements. The SH girls were fiercely competitive, closing down our players very effectively when we were in possession. Initially, our girls were taken aback by the sense of urgency displayed by the SH players and their lead of 1-0 at half time. But the SRS girls showed resilience and greater commitment to win the ball in the second half. Kitty F eventually scored - a just reward for some good drives down the right side. Anya R was effective mid-field: driving or supporting the attack and getting back to defend. Honor L, in particular, made some excellent clearances at the back. The girls created a number of opportunities in mid-field in the second half but we have yet to embed the habit of keeping at least one player ahead of the ball when on the attack, and true width across the front - so our attacking moves unfortunately stalled. A well-deserved win for a passionate SH side. Player of the Match: Anya R
