Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls U11B vs  Kent College Pembury
On: Wednesday, 03 Oct 2018
Venue: Away

The U11 girls traveled to Kent College on Wednesday. The girls were a little apprehensive as they waited for the game: KC's new astro is big and the opponents were tall! However, after a little reassurance about playing 'our' game, all was well. The U11Bs played two KC teams and I was so pleased to see them try to implement some of the strategies we have worked on in training: 1 - holding their position - well done particularly to Suriya R at LH (who was rewarded with a goal scored from near the left post), 2 - driving down the right wing - great work from Kitty F, who managed to score three impressive goals, and 3 - facing the ball quickly once a hit-out has been awarded - well remembered, Anya R and Esme C. The girls' effort were tremendous and they are beginning to work effectively as a team. In fact the margin of victory could have been much greater, as the girls dominated play in Q3, during which Anya R scored. Clemmie W stepped in to GK for the B's and although she was rarely tested - due to sustained blocking and clearance from the backs (Anna B and Honor L) - she remained calm and kicked the ball well clear of danger. Well done girls - super stuff! Player of the Match: Kitty F
