Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls 1st VII vs  Dulwich Prep Cranbrook
On: Wednesday, 26 Sep 2018
Venue: Away

A beautiful sunny day and a great performance, after last week’s disappointment, to come away with a victory on a pitch that has traditionally been a graveyard for SRS teams! The girls knew it would take a big physical effort to overcome Dulwich and we dug in with grit and determination right from the first whistle. Dulwich moved the ball with pace and distance and had a series of penalty corners in the first half, which we defended well. But from a corner of our own, a shot from Jemima S found its way in via the keeper’s kicker, to give us a 1-0 lead at the break. We rode our luck a bit in the second half, with Emily H at one point clearing heroically off the line. Georgie A and Lettice A tackled ferociously at the back; Charlotte P, in goal, kept her nerve and everyone just ran and ran. Relief and tired legs all round at the final whistle. This game could certainly have gone either way so it was very satisfying to win it and keep a clean sheet. Player of the match: Georgie A
