Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls 1st VII vs  Vinehall School
On: Wednesday, 19 Sep 2018
Venue: Away

Our first match of the season was unfortunately one to forget as Vinehall fully deserved their comprehensive victory. Things didn’t start too well, with a minibus breakdown and our subsequent late arrival and little time to warm up or prepare properly. In a raging gale, but strangely warm weather, Vinehall started the stronger and we just couldn’t seem to keep possession for any length of time, as too often we gave the ball away cheaply. Vinehall were already three matches into their season and the difference in this regard was telling. More work to be done on attacking the left foot space of the opposition and carrying the ball hard into space before looking to pass forward. And from defensive free hits we are good enough to be switching the play across the back but are still lacking the confidence to do this. However our physical effort throughout was impressive, given how tiring it can be when chasing the game, and the opposition! Player of the Match: Martha R
