Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Boys-U11A vs  The New Beacon
On: Wednesday, 26 Sep 2018
Venue: Away

What is the most important element in a game of football? Is it a superb defensive unit, a slick mid-field or an instinctive striker? They are, in truth, all important but ultimately if you don't put the ball in the net, you don't trouble the score sheet! This was certainly the case against New Beacon. Early possession and control of the mid-field gave us a few chances to capitalize but we were not clinical enough. A long goal kick was chased down by the left mid of New Beacon, who then volleyed an audacious strike into the top right corner. It was a classic 'sucker punch' and it lifted the hosts, who went on to dominate and win 5-1. The Saint Ronan's goal had a touch of class about it. Matthew G-R made a tidy save and rolled the ball out to Orlando, who put a nice through ball to Billy B-F. He took a touch to control the ball before whipping in a cross, which Ed M headed for a great goal. Man of the Match: Matthew G-R
