Saint Ronan's School Girls-U13A vs  Junior Knole
On: Friday, 15 Nov 2019
Venue: Away

Hosted by Sevenoaks School, the Junior Knole Run is arguably the most prestigious event on the junior cross country calendar, attracting private and state schools from across the South East. Nearly 450 girls and boys from 36 schools competed in Knole Park on courses of 2.6km and 3.4km, testing stamina, resilience, tenacity and perseverance.

Two hundred girls lined up in the valley known as ‘The Spur’, thundering down the initial 400m and sweeping into the ‘Long Valley’ before negotiating a long, tough climb into woodland. Sophie B was the first of the Saint Ronan’s team to ascend the hill in the first half of the field. Bea W, Millie DH and Molly S grouped themselves towards the back of the field, giving themselves some work to do. As they re-emerged into the valley, Sophie picked up her pace, sprinting for the line in 12.04mins, engaged in a winning battle for 63rd place. Bea’s determination won through as she overtook several runners in the final 200m, finishing 71st in 12.15mins. Next to finish was Millie DH looking strong in 84th (12.25mins) and Molly stormed across the line, pipping two others for a time of 12.41mins in 102nd. The Saint Ronan’s girls’ team finished nineteenth of forty-four – a commendable effort and improvement on last year!
