Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Boys-U13C vs  Vinehall School
On: Wednesday, 02 Oct 2019
Venue: at Home

The beautiful afternoon of football from the Thirds in their match against Vinehall was much enjoyed by supporting parents, pigs and donkeys. Vinehall started very energetically, playing up the slope, but strong defence from Charlie D and our Captain Chester prevented them from scoring. As the game progressed, we became the stronger side, particularly as Jaxson and Ralph attacked up the right and then transferred the ball across the goal to Charlie B and our striker Oli L. At half time, despite great end to end football, the score was 0-0. In the second half, Vinehall scored first, then an imaginative attack up the right was switched by Charlie B to Oli L. Oli threaded a neat pass through to Ralph, who positioned himself skillfully to send the ball crashing into the back of the net! At 1-1 there was everything to play for, and with 8-a-side on a huge pitch, the boys were tiring. Vinehall began to dominate again but some magical saves from Angus denied them. Eventually, they did break through Angus’s defence and scored three goals in quick succession, to make the final score a well-deserved 4-1 to Vinehall. Well done to both teams for creating and maintaining such a pleasant and positive environment in which to play.
