Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls-U11A vs  Skippers Hill Manor Preparatory School
On: Wednesday, 04 Dec 2019
Venue: Away

The girls enjoyed a great game of netball against Skipper’s Hill. Despite playing on quite a slippery astro, they managed to contain their movement, accuracy of passing and footwork to take an early 5-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Following the netball masterclasses this week, we have been working hard on our use of space, balancing the court and clearing out if we are not able to get free for the ball. As the game went on, we were able to demonstrate this improvement to our game. By the end of the third quarter, we had stretched our lead to 12-2. Octavia D was instrumental to the score margin, intercepting almost every ball that the Skipper’s Hill attacking players tried to send into their shooting circle. We passed methodically up the court and both Clara S and Louis T were on good form around the post, converting most of their shots to goals. With one quarter to go, we rotated some positions to test our versatility. After a nervous start in a new position, Mathilda R was a revelation at WA. Jo Jo CM and Henrietta G shared the position of Centre to good effect, and Sydney W was strong in the closing stages of the game at GD. A very solid and encouraging performance from the girls. Well done. Players of the Match: Clara S and Octavia D.
