Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls U10B vs  Rose Hill School
On: Wednesday, 11 Sep 2019
Venue: Away

The U10Bs had a super first game of hockey against Rose Hill. We were a little shaky initially but soon grew in confidence as we realised that we could work together to move the ball around the Rose Hill defence. Mischa W and Chloe C worked their socks off closing down the ball and making good tackles to regain possession. They crossed the ball successfully to Amelia B (centre forward) who scored two super goals. Great team work! With a 2-0 lead at half time, we started to think about using the width of the pitch more effectively. Aurelia D and Izzie L held their positions well, helping to stretch the Rose Hill defence, and tried to drive the ball up the wing. Rose Hill also upped their game in the second half and just managed to tuck the ball through a gap in our defence to score. Rose Hill continued to work hard to equalise but Bella B and Marianne P were absolutely solid in defence, quickly closing down any Rose Hill attacks with brilliant block tackles, then clearing the ball up the pitch. A great effort, girls, and lots of encouraging things to work on from this game. Well done. Players of the Match: Mischa W and Marianne P.
