U10A v DPS Lost 258-282

We were put into bat and opened well, scoring singles, and looking to run byes. Some inconsistent bowling did make it difficult to get into a rhythm to score well off each over. However, this is something we must learn to do – to be alert to the possibilities of every ball. Hebe L was once again our best batswoman, scoring a six today amongst a smattering of fours. The girls continued to score steadily, but we do need to learn when to go for a big hit and when to play for quick ones and two’s. We gave three easy catches trying to hit the ball into the trees when a carefully placed ball into space would have given us a win. Our fielding today was excellent: our throwing was accurate and everyone was looking to back up. Henrietta G had obviously taken inspiration from the visit of Sam Billings, as her wicket keeping to Hebe L’s bowling was clean and quick-witted. The girls’ bowling is improving all the time. A disappointing result off an excellent performance. Well done. POM; batter and bowler- Hebe L
