U13A v DCPS Lost 225-287

The final match of the season wasn’t to be our finest hour but the girls did their best to throw themselves into the game having not picked up a bat or bowled a ball for several weeks! DCPS put us into bat first and bowled well. We struggled generally to connect with the ball and failed to hit full tosses into the deep. There were some highlights with Ruby B scoring a 6, and Honor W and Ruby B hitting a couple of 4’s each. However, every time we started to build our run rate we lost a wicket (-5 runs), 6 wickets in total (-30 runs). This had a massive impact on our overall score and we finished the innings on 225. DCPS also performed well with the bat and despite some super bowling from SRS they were able to slog the ball over the boundary scoring several 6’s and a number of 4’s. They were quick to steal runs between the wickets which also added up. Evie S and Martha R almost managed two super catches in the early stages of the innings. Martha was finally awarded with a catch and Ruby B also took a great catch on the boundary. Daisy E, Martha R and Ruby B all bowled well, resulting in many dot balls with no runs scored. Not our best performance of the season, but an enjoyable game never the less played in true SRS spirit. It’s been a pleasure. Well done girls. POM; Batting – Emily H, Fielder – Ruby B
