Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Boys-U11A vs  Cumnor House Sussex
On: Wednesday, 19 Jun 2019
Venue: Away

The Colts A played away at Cumnor House who, having won the toss, elected to bowl. Batting on a 'slow and low' pitch made for tricky conditions and the accuracy of the opening bowlers was rewarded with three early wickets!

The score line read a precarious 3 for 2 after two overs and we were in desperate need of a partnership. Up stepped Ralph C and Ned T. Ned was particularly dismissive of any delivery with width and Ralph showed excellent application to defend the straight ball. The running between the wickets was a little frantic but they did a great job of rescuing the innings. Ned was out for a magnificent 50, supported by Ralph (20), and a late flurry of runs from the bat of Wilby W gave the innings a sense of momentum at the close.

The once seemingly unlikely total of 143 for 5 represented a great recovery. Ed M made up for a poor stroke earlier in the day by bowling superbly. His seam bowling produced an early wicket and then he added three more with some guile in a second spell of spin. Tom T took 2 for 2 and Jack S picked up his first wicket of the season. Cumnor finished on 63 for 8, giving Saint Ronan's a comprehensive 80 run win. Man of the Match: Ned T
