Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls-U10B vs  The Mead School
On: Wednesday, 16 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

For their first fixture of the new year, the U10Bs traveled to The Mead. Drizzly rain turned to more persistent showers as we approached Tunbridge Wells but a full match went ahead on The Mead's astro pitches. Conditions were difficult for netball: the ball was slippery and it became increasingly difficult to hold on to with chilly fingers but the girls played with great determination, enthusiasm and energy. Play in Q1 was fast, furious and rather rushed from both teams but SRS scored twice. In the remaining quarters our play was a little more thoughtful and measured, with the girls trying to observe some patterns of play, but with possession turning over frequently this was challenging. Aggie E and Octavia D, both in defence, made some lovely interceptions which limited The Meads’ scoring opportunities. Lottie B and Evie W displayed tremendous energy midcourt and Florence F, stepping up to the team at the last moment, made creative use of space, particularly in the centre third. Our shooters, Lois T and Polly H, shared the GA/GS roles and the team provided them with many opportunities which they managed to convert on 5 occasions. Great resilience was shown by all, in challenging playing conditions - well done girls! Players of the Match: Lottie B and Evie W.
