Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls-U11A vs  Dulwich Prep Cranbrook
On: Wednesday, 20 Mar 2019
Venue: at Home

Saint Ronan's hosted a thoroughly enjoyable and competitive U11 Pop Lacrosse triangular on Wednesday. Each school (MHS, DCPS and SRS) put out 3 teams. Matches were 12 minutes long, with a straight switch at half time with the clock running. On the A team pitch, SRS played MHS first and the game was fast and furious from the start, with developed skills shown by both sides - many of the girls have had experience of Field Lacrosse this term and this was reflected in their assertive playing style. Our girls moved the ball well, both by running at speed and by some excellent passing, particularly around the goal. Unfortunately, our final shots were off target just too often. Despite some good defence and blocking, MHS routinely converted their chances and finished 7-3 ahead. In the second round, MHS played DCPS and again MHS was victorious. To conclude the competition, SRS faced DCPS. SRS picked the ball up more efficiently and our shooting was far more accurate than before. A very close match throughout, ending in a 6-6 draw. Well done to the squad of 7: Lottie H, Ruby A, Ruby M, Rachel B, Esme C, Kitty F and Lizzie H, who, playing teams of 5, managed rolling subs calmly to enable everyone to have a fair time on the pitch. Special mention to Rachel B for some excellent, long clearances; to Lottie H for outstanding positioning and great catches in front of goal, allowing some easy shots on goal in the DCPS match; and to Lizzie H for close marking and blocking. Well done, girls. Player of the Tournament: Lottie H
