Match Report
Saint Ronan's School Girls-U13A vs  Skippers Hill Manor Preparatory School
On: Wednesday, 05 Dec 2018
Venue: Away

This was a fantastic game of netball and much closer than the final score suggests. Each quarter showcased end to end action, with both teams committed to playing their best netball. SH moved the ball quickly and took us by surprise with some very slick and well-drilled set pieces from their centre pass. However we stuck to our game plan and replied with some super movement and passing of our own to take a 5-0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Georgie A and Emily H swapped their shooting positions at quarter time but otherwise we stuck to our usual responsibilities. Skippers played some very convincing netball in the second quarter, closing the gap as we lost our usual grip on possession. They scored 4 goals to our 2, which set the scores at 7-4 (to us) at half time. In the second half, play was fast and furious, calling on the girls' athleticism, speed and agility in equal measure. Martha R, Jemima S and Hope R managed the centre court, working well together to protect possession through the middle. Ruby B and Evie S were tested in defence but made their presence felt, upsetting Skippers' pattern of play in the circle and making some excellent interceptions. Georgie A popped the goals through the hoop with ease, supported by Emily H. Collectively they scored a further 10 goals against Skippers and the final score was 17-7 to us. Despite the score line, the girls remained disciplined throughout and had to work really hard to secure possession. A great game of netball and once again a pleasure to umpire. Well done. Players of the Match: Jemima S and Ruby B.
